Whereas U2 3D is a concert film made up of words, Shine a Light is a concert film made up of faces. Ironically the small venue serves to fragment the band members even more than a space where the huge cameras could pull back to take in the full entourage. Scorsese mirrors Keith and Mick's on-stage demeanor with his own cinematic jokesmanship. Nice to see Albert Maysles in there.
