Nichols House Museum - Beacon Hill, Boston

An eccentric showpiece on Beacon Hill. Doesn't show up on many lists of Boston Museums. 1804 Federalist row house designed by Bullfinch. The final owner, Rose Nichols (1872-1960), seems like a fascinating woman. Never married. Activist for women's rights and international peace. Worked in landscape design, woodworking and needlework.
